    My empty nest.....

I'm not to sure I'm liking this empty nest phase of life...at least at this point in time.  Two of my three little birdies have flown the nest and the third is on the edge, trying his wings.  Wow what a change!  Where did the time go.  People tell you to " enjoy them while you can,"  but you really have no idea how fast  their time with you flies by.  Sometimes I want to turn back time, sometimes I'm excited about the future that my hunny and I will have, just the two of us again.  One thing I do know, I sure with they'd clean out the nest before they left....lol.

    Another project done....

I have been working on a nativity picture, along with my friends Mary and Diana, and I finished it!  It's going to be for my sweet daughter's first Christmas in her first apartment.  I'm so excited to see her face.  Now what shall I do next?  I have so many things in mind...lol.

For for some other news, we may be getting a new puppy.  He's a mixed breed and so adorable.  It would be Jake's dog.  All we have to do is a little arm twisting on dad.  It seems to be working too. Yippee!

    Home Sweet Hectic Home

It's so good to be home after being gone for almost 2 weeks.  The house is a shambles and laundry is piled up to my eyeballs.  Oh the work I have ahead of me....lol.  School starts tomorrow and the regular routine begins, which I'm actually looking forward to.  My baby is a senior this year!  I'm really hoping he won't fly the coup as soon as he graduates.  He's such a nut and makes life so fun and whacky around here.  I won't borrow trouble....the Lord's got it all under control and I'll be able to handle when my nest is empty...I hope.  Yah, I'll be fine. Really I will.  Lol!

    Laundry

    Laundry.......

I look at the mountain of dirty clothes on the floor and dread spending the day doing it.  It wouldn't be as bad a day if I wouldn't have been avoiding it in the first place, but I made my pile and now I have to deal with it.

I found a little Nursery Rhyme that makes me appreciate that I have my wonderful washing machine and dryer.

The old woman must stand at the tub, tub, tub,
The dirty clothes to rub, rub, rub,
But when they are clean, and fit to be seen,
She'll dress like a lady, and dance on the green.

    Pebbles

We decided to head to Eastern Washington for a spur of the moment camping trip.  We camped on the Methow river on property that Eric's mom owns.  The weather was wonderful and although there were forest fires burning in some area, it didn't cause any problems where we were.  Eric decided he needed snorkeling gear and had a blast with the dogs in the river.  My favorite thing to do at the river is read and collect pebbles and river rocks.  Ever since the kids were little we would collect rocks and paint them.  We have quiet the collection surrounding the trailer and grandma's house!  The kids are almost grown and don't seem to want to paint rocks anymore, but I just can't stop myself from collecting and painting.  Every smooth stone has a alter ego just waiting to pop out!  Here are a few........

    Doodles

I recently came upon an old sketchbook of mine while looking for something else.  It was fun to see  my doodles and remember what I was thinking as I drew them.  I love to doodle!  I usually have my sketchbook with me just incase the mood strikes me or I have an idea I want to jot down.  It's my way telling how I feel.  A bit like a writer or musician expresses  his or herself I guess.  Some of the doodles are random little things that have nothing to do with anything.  Those must have been on days I was feeling bored or a little fuzzy in the brain...lol.  Here is one of my doodles.  I'll add more as I get them scanned

    Snowboarding in July.....

We're having a heat wave here in Washington state.  No airconditioning, not enough fans and too hot to do anything except go to the beach, right?  Well, not if you're part of my wacky clan.  "Let's go snowboarding!"  One of the kids came up with that one you're probably guessing and you'd be wrong.  That came straight out of the mouth of my husband.  It makes more sense when you know him.  This is a man who is young at heart.  The only problem is that his body doesn't always agree.  Anyway, off they go to Whistler, B.C. to snowboard in 90 degree heat in July.  What an awesome memory they made.  As for me, I stayed home in the heat and wished I was as wacky as the rest of them.

    Stitching.......

I'm working on a Nativity picture along with my stitching buddies, Mary and Diana, the two speed demons.  This one I'm determined to get done asap, as long as I can stay focused and not let those two get me sucked into another new project.........lol.  They'll be done long before me because they NEVER SLEEP!  Wish me luck....

    Time heals all wounds.........

Time heals all wounds so they say.  Time sure moves slow.  Sure wish I could intervene, but I can't.  So I pray for mercy and peace.

    My Baby's broken heart...

It's a hard thing to watch your child going through a broken heart.  Oh, how I long for the days when I could kiss it and make it better.  I can't make it better and I can't take away the hurt.  My baby is hurting and there is nothing I can do other than hold her and love her through it.  It would be easier if she still lived at home but she's on her own.  Letting them learn from their hurts and mistakes is a hard thing to do.  I just pray this time in her life will make her a better person.  Turn your troubles into stepping stones, don't let them be your tombstone.  Forgive and let go.
